It took only 3 Days to delivery 10,000 COVID Home Test Kits
Kent Search & Rescue (“KSAR”) are pleased to announce that Operation BARTON in Maidstone, Kent, the operation to deliver 10,000 COVID home Testing Kits has been successfully executed.
KSAR personnel were deployed to work alongside Kent Police and Kent Fire and Rescue Service, Maidstone Borough Council, Kent County Council, South East 4×4 Response and other volunteers in order to help support the delivery and later collection of COVID 19 test kits in the ME15 area of Maidstone.
This surge testing exercise is being undertaken for Public Health England.
We’d just like to thank all the residents and communities in ME15 who have been so supportive of this operation. Distributing 10,000 COVID testing kits is no small task but we’re making good progress.
At the start of each day all our volunteers take a lateral flow test to ensure they are COVID negative. Whilst out all members are required to wear PPE and maintain the Government guidelines to keep the team and the public safe.
We also send a massive thank you to Rapid Relief Team UK for their support whilst we’ve been out over the last 3 days. Being able to return to hot food is a massive boost to all our volunteers.
