Search Teams
KSAR Has a variety of search teams:
The basic requirement for each member is to be a trained and qualified Search Technician [ST].
Kent Search and Rescue therefore provides training for all its members to include:
- basic / advanced search techniques
- navigation
- first aid
- radio communications
- evidence handling
- scenes of crime.
These skills represent the core skill set of every member.
Every member has to maintain competency by annual and ongoing continuous training.
Training is provided to Lowland Rescue and other appropriate National Standards in accordance with the national training programme.
Various roles also attain workplace qualifications provided under the remit of Skills for Justice. These are recognised qualifications that demonstrate the professionalism of the members.
Specialist Teams
Once qualified as Search Technicians members have the ability to participate in specialist teams including:
- Foot Search
- Bank Search
- Dog Search
- Mountain Bikes Search
- Boat Search (Inflatable boats, Canoes & Kayaks)
- Flood Rescue
