Chislet Bowls Club & The KSAR Trophy

A very enjoyable day was had yesterday at Chislet Bowls Club, Canterbury, where various Kent clubs played for the biennial KSAR Trophy. Proceeds for the day were presented in the form of a cheque for £800. Thank you all!

“Team Mallet” Running for KSAR

One of our members, his brother and three mates are going to run in next year’s Brighton Marathon to help raise funds for Kent Search and Rescue. Collectively known as “Team Mallet”, they will take part in several smaller runs between now and then, starting with the Worthing 10km in June. Cotswold Outdoor Film Donation

Canterbury’s Cotswold Outdoor store was recently approached by Friday Filmworks to use the store during filming. All was agreed with the “fee” being a donation to KSAR and two other charities and a cheque for £500 was presented today by store manager Steve Male. A very big “thank you” to all concerned.

We are extremely grateful for some recent substantial grants from various charitable trusts: Postcode Community Trust (People’s Postcode Lottery) Roger De Haan Charitable Trust Kent Community Foundation These funds will help us purchase and convert a much-needed, brand new Search Control Vehicle. “Team Fraggle” L2B Trek

Two KSAR members known as “Team Fraggle” will be walking from London to Brighton (101km) in June in a joint fundraise for both KSAR and the BHF (British Heart Foundation). Please show your support HERE. Good luck Fraggles!

KSAR’s Dirty Dozen!

We love “working” at outdoor events and can be found on Saturday 16th April at the “Dirty Dozen Races” on the Hole Park Estate, near Cranbrook. Some of KSAR’s Water Search Teams will be using kayaks, canoes, PFDs, dry-suits and throw-lines (as well as flasks of steaming hot coffee for personal consumption) to make sure competitors safely >>Read the full article…
